Hi Sally, Yes I know what you mean, after sitting for hours doing mine manually, and then they have the audacity of sending me a RED letter asking me where is it. Not long I guess till I finish with it all together. Who would be a boss. Glad Im not any more.

Sorry Trish, dont mean to hijack your thread. As an ex employer, you should have received your P45 when you left. Its a load of bunkum, when they tell you it comes at the end of the month. Its someone who cant interfere with the way the business works. Mustnt upset their routine. Ill get of my soapbox now. Companies and Tax depts and me,dont Mix. trish xx

Tax office are a law unto themselves. We meet deadlines,we pay our money, but woe betide you if you are late. What I would like to know what dept does lost paperwork go to,some silly numpty filed it I guess.

In a previous life I worked or Civilian Personnel in the RAF. If our main wages computers went down we used to get a nominal sum paid (nearest to what we usually received) and then adjustments were made the following month. Ann Glos

Hilda Baker was the actress, nothing to do with P45's/P60's. On another note, the tax office have told us they have lost all our P14's and P35. Grrrrrrrrr, have to do it all again. trish

Yes...I think her name was Nellie Pledge on the programme, and her brother was Eli - played by Jimmy Jewel (or was it Ben Warris) one of those anyway...but cant for the life of me remember her name - loved her comedy....

Sally Moonchild Report 26 May 2006 10:34

....by the way Trish...who was it that used to say 'I'm stood standing here...' - small lady, stout, dark curly hair, something to do with Eli's Pickles - thinking Thora Hird, but defo not her....

Probably but they're a dying breed!! Went to a tax course for this online filing (he made it sound so easy!!) and the only ones who knew how to do manual payroll were all over 35. It's our own business, that's why I do it. Today it's getting done manually because the file won't open (the Revenue's own disc)!! Installed the new Budget edition disc last week and now neither want to open. I will take that as a sign to do them manually! half an hour plus fill the pay packets then a cuppa! Have fun all of you.

Well I'm blowed....all this time I have been thinking that Wages personnel have it easy with computers....and the old way is best....just thinking though...what happens if the computers crash....are there those still out there that can do it (wages I mean) by hand and brainpower.....

Trish

Trish Report 26 May 2006 10:18

Woody's Report 26 May 2006 10:18

Sally, I never had a problem when it was done by hand and a calculater. I can do the wages in 30 mins manually - takes best part of 2 hours by computer. Believe it's called PROGRESS!

Sally Moonchild Report 26 May 2006 10:18
