They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old, Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn, At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We shall remember them.

To All who gave their Lives in Wars. R.I.P Remember Them Many years ago Before my life was spawned A man would give his life And be sent to that beyond. Not because of age As all great men should go But because of his beliefs Of that we all should know. That freedom is not given O' no it must be earned And though their lives were taken This lesson must be learned. In remembrance of the lives That this cause surely cost Remembrance of the soldiers Whose lives were sadly lost. So though the time may pass And the marks of war grown cold Let's not forget the men Who sacrificed so bold. by Charles Moore

I'm popping over to Normandy soon and will be thinking of them all and am due to visit Ranville Cemetery. If anyone has any relatives in that cemetery do let me know by sending me a 'pm'. I'll try and post this on the Records Board as well. I'll be busy supervising teenagers, but will try and look for any names that I'm given, if there is time. Claire

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row That mark our places, and in the sky The larks still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amidst the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow. Loved and were loved and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe To you from failing hands we throw The torch, be yours to hold it high If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields Punch Dec 8th 1915 Lt-Colonel John McRae Doctor, Soldier, Author, Artist and Poet 1872 - 1918 ............ at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them. RIP

Thanks to those who gave their lives for our freedom and peace. Those brave men will probably be turning in their graves to know the evil on our streets these days, (thread entitled SCUM). We owe it to them to claim back our country so all people can live in peace and safety. Liz
