I have 10 of them, and a great grandaughter. one of my grandsons had his 12th birthday party at my house last night, In front of his friends he wrapped his arms around me and said, oooh Nannie i love you sooo much. What more could you want? It was worth the mess. lol Shirley Ann. |

Oh what a lovely thread. Brings back many memories of times I spend with my Grandparents: walking, blackberrying, painting, singing, dancing and just being cuddled. Haven't got any grandchildren yet, but looking forward to having some before I get a zimmer! Have a good day everyone. Margaret |

'If I had known grandchildren were so nice I'd have had them first!' I know it's quite corny and ridiculous, but it speaks volumes for us grandparents. Mine are aged 20 and 18 (boys [well still boys to us]), and a 15- year-old granddaughter. My wife and I love them all to bits. Brian, ; < O ) |

I'm not able to visit my grandparents so often, only once or twice a year, so I cherish every minute I spend with them. :-) |

I would love to be a grandma. I only knew my paternal grandmother and she lived away from our home, so I didn't really know her well and was always a bit in awe of her and scared too. Doing my tree has taught me a little more about her and talking to cousins I didn't know when young who lived close by her, has told me more about her too. My parents idolised my son but sadly my dad died when he was 7 and my mum when he was 12 so they haven't seen him grow to a man. I do hope I don't have to wait too many years to spend time with his offspring, will be so proud to have them to love and spoil. Liz Neeta, sorry to learn of your sad loss, but hope your memories make things a little easier for you all. |

Oh yes Harry, it's wonderful and with the advancing years I've found a bit of tolerance and patience comes too! I don't turn a hair if my beautiful Granddaughter aged 3 in a couple of weeks 'accidentally' draws on the wallpaper hung permanently vertically instead of the left over lining paper laid out on the table for her benefit! If my boys had done the same I'd have been tearing my hair out! Cherry |
