Thanks Ann, Bev and Janette, I'll wrap it in foil and put it in the oven then! Nope - I didnt watch the TV this morning, so I missed out on how to cook fish! Darn! :-) Would it take about 15 mins to cook in the oven? Jan |

gasps..............don't boil it!............fish is delicate, I like to poach mine..........or wrap it in buttered foil, with a bit more butter and herbs in and cook it in the oven..........why don't you google some receipes, I often do regards......Barbara..xx |

Hi Jan - rule 1 - don't overcook it! I usually bake mine in the oven - you can add a crunchy topping made with breadcrumbs and herbs, or it's nice on a bed of cubed potatoes (parboil first then drizzle with olive oil, salt etc.) - stick a couple of cloves of garlic in and halved tomatoes, bake for about 20 mins and then put the cod on top and cook for about 10 mins, depending on thickness of fish. Oven - quite hot about 200 deg.C |

You could wrap it in tin foil, adding a squeeze of lemon juice, and gently bake it in the oven. Julie x |

I don't eat fish - horrible - but my family are all mad on it and they usually poach their fish, but I would say steaming it would work well too. Kaye x |

You didn't watch Saturday Kitchen this morning then Jan! lol Ken Hom cooked a piece of fresh cod. He put it on a plate and sprinkled it with salt, pepper, ginger, and the some orange and lemon zest. He then steamed it. I dare say you could do the same but wrap it in foil and put it in the oven. I would either do my cod in the oven or breadcrumb it and shallow fry. |

Hi I've bought a fresh piece of cod fillett and I've never cooked fresh fish before! Could someone tell me the best way of cooking it please? :-) Is it best to boil it or grill it? Jan |
