Thank you all so very much... Will bring shorts, teeshirts, jacket, hat, brollie...and maybe even a swimsuit Yes, on a trip of a lifetime! Flying into Calgary next Sunday and then 3 days on a motorcoach to lake louise and banff with overnight stays and a trip to the Icefields. Then onto the Rocky Mountaineer for two days from Jasper to Vancouver via Kamloops with an overnight stay. We are then on to the Diamond Princess cruise ship to Alaska with stops in Juneau, Skagway and the cruise up the inside passage to Anchorage...and then home! Will probably be shattered by the end of it but can not wait to see the beautiful scenery and visit Canada for the first time. Back in November for a few days to Toronto for my Ma's 60th! Be greatful for any further updates |

Vancouver warm and sunny today. Whistler Village was 32 yesterday. Don't know if I was sweating because of the heat or the anticipation of the zip! Deb |

Hi Evie; I am in Calgary and our weather is very mixed right now. We had 16 today and the forecast for the next few days is around 14 to 16 with a chance of showers. It is supposed to clear around wednesday and be back in the low 20's. If you are in Banff or Jasper it gets fairly cool in the evening, bring a fleecy or light jacket. Our weather is very changeable at this time of year, last week it was in the low 30's. Have fun and try to fit in a trip to Lake Moraine just past Lake Louise. It is by far our favourite place to visit with a lovely short hike along the lake. Teresa |

Vancouver -rain - so what's new! Calgary, Jasper, Banff - chance of showers all week - rain on Monday. Bring your raincoat but here we always say 'If you don't like the weather - wait half an hour and it will change.' I've seen snow on the first of July! Stopped us going through the mountains via Rocky Mountain House so we went north to Jasper and the weather was fine. Today cloudy but beautiful sunshine. Be prepared for lots of crowds and expense - Canada isn't cheap any more - but not as expensive as England! Have a great trip. Best trip we ever had was donated to us by the kids for our 50th wedding anniversary. Jasper to Vancouver on the Rocky Mounatin Railway! Fabulous! Stop over one night in Kamloops in a swish hotel too and a Limo in Vancouver to take us to the ferry for Nanaimo. |

Evie, Michael is right to the weather right now. I'm also in Southern Ontario and it is sunny but bit on cool side today, (good for gardening). West coast is under cloud for the most part but the long range is looking good. Also, depends on what areas you will be visiting. Vancouver is under cloud quite often but they are also having very warm weather so will not deter your plans. Hope you have a great visit to our country and a wonderful birthday. Debs |

I was just looking at the weather channel (on line at theweathernetwork dot com, also) and you are right! It's been wet weekends in the East. for a while. A mid-Atlantic High is blocking the lows. But, in the Northern parts, there wre temps of 29C. Here in Southern Ontario, sunny and going up to 17C. Your holiday will be fine -it sounds a wondeful trip! Michael |
