Was raised by me dad, who died in 1992, don't know my mum at all really. Have no contact with dads family as he fell out with them years before he died. Have a small amount of contact with my Mums side but don't feel close. So can't really call my family but have amazing friends who have become my family and I tell em I love em all the time! |

I tend to tell by brother that I love him more than I tell my parent (very naughty I know.) also sigh letters and cards as Love Rachel - but I know I should tell them more that I love them. I tell my paternal grandparents all the time that I love then even though they are both gone now. visiting my other grandparents is getting harder as I'm dreading loseing them too so have to tell them I love them and to stay well. I did tell my nan I loved her when I last saw her but my grandfather was so sudden that there was no time. |

I tell my friends i love them every time I speak to them as I would hate not to have told them the last time I spoke to them!! This started when I was 15 as I realised my Grandad had died 5 years previous without me telling him!! Must admit some men have been spooked by it but when I explain why they get it!! xx |

Hi Diana, what a lovely thread, encouraging people to speak out their love! My mum and I say 'I love you' every time we speak on the phone, which is 3 times a week. I only get to see her about 4 times a year because of distance. My three boys all tell me they love me every day, even my six-foot tall teenager!! D |

Christine - that's what its all about!! When Daddy was living with me he told me at least twice a day that he loved me..... and I can treasure the fact that his last words to me was 'I love you baby' - But whether he said it or not I know he did with every bone in his body, especially as he once told me that he wished he'd never met my mum, but then said if I hadn't i wouldn't know you!! I could never speak to my dad on the phone and only saw him twice a year before he lived with me but every time i called my mum he'd take the phone and say 'I love you baby' even tho he could never hear the reply!! Those 4 words to me are worth their weight in gold!! |

We didn't ever say it - it was known that we loved each other, yet as my dear Mum was in hospital for the last time earlier this year I did tell her how much I loved her and for the first time I can remember she said that she loved me too. I treasure that. ((((((Hugs)))))) to everyone Christine |

My greatest regret is the last time I saw my Dad, I had helped Mum put him to bed and she feft me alone with him for a few minutes. I remember standing by the door looking back at him labouring for breath, and I so wanted to say 'I love you Dad' but it seemed so melodramatic I just turned and went out of the room. We wewre not the sort of family who said that sort of stuff, but I so wish I had on that occasion. He died early the following morning. Liz |
