Bosch are definitely the best at the moment, but Zanussi are supposed to be good - I think it's like everything now, the standard isn't the same as it used to be and things aren't designed to last? Good luck with the repair - hope it doesn't hurt your pocket too much. Sue - I got a machine because my dishwasher was hopeless, so unreliable and did a terrible job. lol Kaye x |

I have generally found Zanussi reliable in the past, but my new WM and TD are both Bosch. I think, if I ever replace the DW I will get Bosch too. Liz |

Ok - good luck. I asked where you were by the way because if you had been down here he would have done it for you (and probably given you a discount) and if you had been in the High Wycombe area his Cousin owns a Domestic Appliance Shop there and does repairs. We had a Zanussi Frige Freezer which packed up less than a week out of Guarantee - I phoned them in the hope that they would at least help with the cost of repair and they gave us a brand new one free of charge! Our Zanussi Washing machine has had it's pumps replaced more than once and that's about 6 years old now. They aren't as good as the likes of Bosch these days. Kaye x |

Hi Kaye, Thank you for chatting to bro-in-law, and thank him from me too. We are on North Staffordshire btw. I'll go through the Yellow Pages tomorrow and find a little man. Liz x |

Hi Liz - had a chat with Bro in Law and he also says it's most probably the Heating Element. If the machine isn't reaching the right temperature then it can't complete it's cycle - it keeps going until it gets to the right temp. He reckons if you use a local Domestic Appliance Repair place - rather than going to Zanussi - it will probably cost you about £70! Cheaper than a new machine though. Sorry it couldn't be better news. Kaye x Where abouts in the Country are you? |

The element? I seem to recall we had that problem with our old dishwasher, so that could be quite likely. Oh dear, I do not need this... Liz :-( |

Quite likely, ....the heater element is duff........ washing machines HAVE to reach certain parameters before they go on to the next step. IE.... the right water levels and temperatures if they dont, then the machine stays put and wont move on to the next step....Bob |

Hi Mandy, I've been thinking about you and your Mum a lot. I hope you are both coping. Yes, I would have thought a Zanussi would last a bit longer too... We cannot really afford expensive repairs just now, so I hope it is easily remedied. Liz x |

Hi Liz Just thought I'd say hi and hope you're ok? Hope it isn't something expensive wrong with your dishwasher, I'd expect Zanussi to last a bit longer than 2 1/2 years without anything major going wrong! I've also heard about steaming fish in the dishwasher, but as I've just invested in one of those Tefal steamers, I think I'll stick to that! Mandy :) |

Donna, if I get it fixed I might try that! What temperature cycle? Presumably the hottest? (On my one that's 70 C) Liz |
