grow in this heat but plants die ?

That was simple, annoying though..!

because sunshine is a signal to weeds to grow as fast as possible and set it's seed before the weather goes bad again.the makers of systemic weedkillers use this knowledge to make weeds grow so fast that the root can't sustain the rapid growth and so die. Fiendishly clever these Chinese lol. P/s ,you should see my tatties grow, the highest i've ever seen them,here's hoping the tatties are the best too.Fred.

You've seen my weeds RDA, just going mad at the moment,watering hanging baskets and tubs but they are not looking very happy..weeds everwhere.. * bring your gardening gloves on Sunday*

Morning Shady Lady ~~~~Has OH gone off in his lorry ?

He went 6,o,clock Sunday morning Polly,he's in Scotland, Edinburgh to be exact.

It's lovely there, one of my favourite places..

I used to go with him a while back,but nowadays they cant take passengers ( something to do with not being insured to carry passengers ). I did go to Edinburgh once,and must say I thought it was lovely.I miss not going along with him.

Often wondered about lorry drivers, do they sleep in the lorries at night.?

Yes Polly,they have bunks in the cab (sometimes two) and my OH has a stove and oven etc to cook his food at night,although he does eat out sometimes,its according to how he feels.He always phones me when he is parked up for the night,to let me know where he is,and to check that I'm alright too.

Didn't realise they had cookers !

My husband has his own,but,some have built in microwaves. Trucks arent like they used to be,they're much better now.They have night heaters for the cold weather and air con for the summer,the engines are controlled by computers too,very modern !

You don't know the half of it polly,years ago ,there i was ,parked up for the night in Ayr,freezing cold ,and no heater,keeping myself warm with four blankets from the back of the wagon,when a Dutch lorry pulls in beside me ,turns off the engine ,turns on his heater ,turns on his colour teli ,and cooker ,and has the cheek to wave to me grrrrrrr.Fred.

Fred my oh has colour tv and a dvd player,not provided by the company,his own.

Sounds more like a mobile home ! Poor Fred, you must have been born too early !! Must have been a hard life years ago... I hate driving on the motorways when there seems to be miles of lorries..scary..

Just think how many miles lorry drivers travel on the motorways,my oh went from Somerset to Scotland,and that is normal for him.
