I recently won some old postcards (picture and photographic) on Ebay so that I could share them with fellow GR members as a thank you for all the help and support I’ve received (both with my research and personally). Please browse through them, and if you recognise any of the people or places, send me a PM for more information, and I will let you have the postcard/s. I am giving these cards away as a friendly gesture, NOT selling them. All I ask is for a stamped, addressed envelope in which to send your card/s to you. Some of them have writing on the reverse, or the name of a photographic studio on them. I will detail this beneath the photograph. If there is nothing at all with which to identify the picture, I will put my guess as to the content in brackets. The site is http://groups.msn(.)com/MandysOldPostcards Mandy :) |

Mandy, you're going to make someone really happy with this offer :-)) The brother and sister one (Bristol?) - the man looks so familiar I'm sure hubby has one of him - will have to have a look at the old ones (wherever I've put them - could be under the spare bed). Trouble is, if it's the one I'm thinking of we haven't a clue who it is LOL. |

Mandy, Thanks for you email. The postcards are fabulous. I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at them all. I think the 3 men on the steps was wonderful, but if nobody else would like the one of Lincoln Cathedral, then please can I ........... Alan's grandad was born in Lincoln and I'm sure that his mum would love to add it to her family history folders. I hope that some do get back to the subjects of the photographs. As I said to you earlier, I have my grandmothers postcard album and it is such a shame that the pictures of individulals haven't been named. I have a treasure trove but no living rellies who could say who they are. Speak soon Love Anne xx |

Hi Joan It's in the 'small groups' album, middle of the second row. Two men, taken in a studio in Eastbourne. Hi Mau You're welcome to those if you'd like them. Hi Trish! Wouldn't that be funny if hubby had same person in a pic? Do let me know when you find it. Mandy :) |

I found them Mandy !! Sadly not mine, lol !! The one where you have put 2 men, one in uniform, one in civvies, I think the one in civvies is actually wearing a hospital uniform, which soldiers wore when injured & went to a hospital. The uniform was a grey colour, the lapels were white & the tie was bright red, cos I have photos of my granddad wearing one just like it. :0)) Joan xxxxx |
