Now, that's an idea. Just got an acoustic guitar to learn to play. suppose I could swap for an electric one with amplifier?? Workbench is currently in bedroom No 2, as I'm cutting lots of wood at the moment. Suppose it could go either in the garage or on the drive of a weekend and I could cut and drill the holes out there? I also thought I could order a few things from Harrods and get them to deliver. That would set a few tongues wagging. Keep them coming. I've been nice - now I am going to be not nice! I'm a good friend and have helped some of these neighbours out a lot. They've never seen me nasty, so they're in for a surprise as I'm a bad enemy. AL

AL have been in exactly the same position as you so I know where you're coming from. If I get any more ideas I'll let you know. Going to watch this thread with interest. Could you put up a borrowed For Sale sign and then get some people to pretend to be one large crazy noisy family complete with motorbikes, dogs, parrots to do several viewings?

Hi Trish From your previous reply I was thinking along similar lines. OH knows the local estate agent quite well (both were parish councillors at the same time). Might ask him to come 'round and pretend to take some 'photos! Could ask one of my mates with loads of kids to come 'round, but that would probably give me a nervous breakdown! AL ps Just had another brainwave - it's really working now! We're looking at getting a new kitchen and bedroom units soon, as well as replacing the double glazing, soffits, etc (in a few months as we're saving up to get the lot done in one go, so the mess is all at the same time!). Could get some companies 'round for quotes - seeing the samples coming in would make a few tongues wag too! AL

You're getting the hang of it now - just make sure nobody says anything to let him know what you're up to. :-))) Wish I was a fly on the wall.

I live next door to a church and they are the loveliest neighbours anybody could wish for. It works both ways you see, I get a beautiful Sunday morning every week and on special holey occasions with singing and organ, in retun I don't mow or whippersnip while its happening. I do their grass and yard sometimes and they give me plant cuttings. I don't go to church, but the congregation are pretty special to me. We've been neighbours for 23 years love Yvette x

1. Stand outside when you know they are listening and loudly discuss where you are putting the pigs and chickens (even though they are not next door you could say somewhere they can see them) . . . 2. Keep having things delivered - even if you send them back they will think you are loaded. (Mail Order is best, collection is usually free) Try to order odd shaped parcels too. 3. Take odd shaped objects (preferably wrapped) into your house, even the cat would do! 4. Try to leave home with a suitcase as often as possible. Pity they are not next door, my neighbour spends hours a day sunbathing so I put carrier bags out (rustling noise) and wind chimes (tinkling noise) right at the other side of the fence for maximum annoying sounds she can enjoy all day long. Not because I am jealous of her sunbathing but because we found out she used to bully our friend at work

Hi Donna, my neighbour was,I'm afraid, from hell. After helping him, clearing his garden (without his help) etc etc he turned into a really nasty person when there was nothing else for us to help him with . Did the thing that annoyed him most - which was by being pleasant to him, even though he ignored us big time (when I was on my own in the house he would spend ages just banging doors, and I don't mean every one he went through, he would choose one door and stand there for half an hour slamming it shut, opening it, slamming it). Won't go into boring details but thank goodness he moved.

That's the thing, I don't want to annoy my immediate neigbours, who most of the time you wouldn't know were there. I will complain when the other neighbours are making a noise, etc, park their cars on the corner where I live, on the pavement, etc. I've never moaned about this before, but I will now and they will be valid complaints. Have to be very careful as two of the neighbours (part of the clan) are coppers. Fortunately we know our local village bobby very well (through Parish Council), so OH is thinking of having a word with him for some help and advice. I think the nosey and jealously things will probably irritate some of them more than anything else, so will endeavour to milk these. Glad it's happened now though, as we're planning on getting married (probably) next year. The reception's £140 a head, so them not coming will save nearly £4,000! RESULT!! AL

Thanks Donna Think this is the best stance. Irritate them in subtle ways. Must look up some showrooms etc when I get home and arrange some quotes. Al
