He brings me a cup of tea in bed every morning, brings me breakfast in bed every weekend. He cooks dinner about 3 times a week. He'll clean the oven for me and washes the kitchen floor a couple of times a week. Cuts the lawn weekly. Load and unloads the dishwasher all the time. Can't get him to do any ironing though, but as I don't mind ironing, that's not a problem. He'll do the dusting and hoovering too and clean the loos - all without being asked! He also surprises me with little cards, notes and emails (to work) and buys or sends me flowers regularly. Tells me he loves me every morning and night. AL |

Have to give you a bit of background on this one..... My OH hasn't worked for three years, since his stroke, and life has been pretty hard at times over the last five that we have been together. So for most of that time I have been the sole earner. We have not yet recovered from my redundancy two years ago so money has been tight. I haven't had my hair done properly in that time. I came home on Tuesday and he said there is a new salon in the city centre, only £45 for any cut and colour. I took offence right away, and we nearly had a row about it, then he said, 'Look, I can't help you out financially, I know I am a burden at times, keeping you worried about me and constantly watching to make sure I don't have a hypo and all that, and right now, with your hip (arthritis) you have got a hell of a lot on your shoulders. Just for once I want to do something for YOU, so take it as an early birthday present. I don't want to but you flowers or clothes, I want to do something for YOU so shut up. I told him to go ahead and book it. It made me cry lol. I'm getting it done on Wednesday. :-) |

I know. He's not the most romantic person on this earth, and most of the time I feel he doesn't appreciate me, but now and then he comes up with a real gem like that. Bless him. |

That's lovely TW - so good to have a relationship like that.. I'm lucky to have such a kind and considerate husband.. He's the only person I can depend on 100% - I know he'll not let me down.. I just have to ask and he does all he can to help despite having a full workload himself. |

My husband does nothing for me personally. I wish he would. There's only one thing I want him to do for me....... Pack his bags and leave ! Viv |

Sorry Viv I had to laugh altho I think you really mean it? (Trying to recall previous comments of yours). Good luck. Teresa, are you going to that new salon with Craig from Cromer, off BB or what ever show he was on? Should be fun. If you contact me I can give you the number of a salon where they give you cuts colour anything for free, as a model, and it is always done really well, and a nice lot of people too. Starting again in September, so do mail me if you want the phone number. It was a lovely gesture of your o.h. but I know I feel £45 is a huge price to pay for a hairdo, so I am always going as a model -haven't paid for a haircut for years now, been with this salon for about 3 years, and colour my own hair, then have lowlights etc there. Lynn, I am imagining that bus on your drive, remember the film Summer Holiday? We could have a GRgt trip! lol All you lucky ladies with partners who help out and appreciate you, thank your lucky stars. Not everyone is so lucky. |

Mr Medlock is another treasure. He doesn't always do a lot around the house - he works v hard - long hours - and has a bit of a disability which gives him pain and makes him grumpy, but he tells me he loves me every day and gives me lots of cuddles and most of all...he makes me laugh... Oh and he did tell my boss to 'go away' when he phoned me when I was on holiday cos he couldn't find a file! Still think being married at all is the hardest thing I have ever done though |
