'Today by your side is such a heavenly way to ..........' better not add anymore as they are very dark lyrics and I wouldn't want to offend. Greensleeves i totally know where you are coming from. lol. Fantastic song. Perfect in every way in my opinion.

BTW ... I'm quoting a Smith's lyric so don't be alarmed!! 'And if a double decker bus.....' well, I think that's enough but love the Smiths and my favourite was Johnny Marr who had an incredible ability to create new and interesting riffs for Morissey to put his lyrics to.

Wasn't meant as a criticism of you Green Sleeves! I usually listen to the radio version and it's the reasons for the choices made that prompt me to listen to the programme, rather than the music snippets themselves. I had just wondered if, like the programme, your choice marked significant events in your life that you wanted to share. I wasn't meaning to pry or to suggest that anyone shouldn't just put up a list of their 8 all time favourites.!! Jay

Here are mine, but I'll have to sort the order out! 1. Even Now - Barry Manilow 2. I Saw Her Standing There - The Beatles 3. Love Me Tender - Elvis 4. Land of Hope & Glory - Live from the Last Night of the Proms 5. Don't You Want Me Baby - Human League 6. Do Wah Diddy Diddy - Manfred Mann 7. Kiss This Thing Goodbye - Del Amitri 8. Vindaloo - Fat Les (well I had to have one rubbish sing-a-long song!) Sue xx

Hi Chaps and Chapettes, As I keep saying it doesn't matter if you've heard of my lot... can you choose 8 songs that you would take to a desert island? It's difficult!!

Hi Muffy, I do like Massive Attack and that song is excellent. That is one of the songs I forgot about when making my choice! Also like Teardrops and about every other track on the Mezzanine album. Thanks for reminding me!

Janet, you'd like me to explain the reasons for all eight tracks? It took me enough time to put them all up there in the first place and I think I'd bore you by saying the likes of, 'well, I like this one because I like it' for all eight!!! lol The point was you don't have to explain them as they are there as your favourite tracks. I've put mine up there and you are free to add yours and you don't have to know mine to do that. I'm not trying to outdo anyone just putting up what I like, although I do recommend them!!!

But what makes the programme interesting is the REASONS for the choice. Would you like to share yours? Jay

Messed up with the start of the thread but will try again. Here's my 8: 1) Wichita Lineman............... Glen Campbell 2) Hejira................................ Joni Mitchell 3) Superstylin'.......................Groove Armada 4) Venus as a Boy.................Bjork 5) Fought in a War.................Belle and Sebastian 6) One more Time...................Daft Punk 7) Man Out Of Time................Elvis Costello 8) Waterloo Sunset.................The Kinks See.... I've already changed my mind! It doesn't matter whether or not you've heard my lot but it is difficult to choose yout 8 all time favs. Anyone else want to have a go and no criticising please because it is a personal choice. Thanks.
