A few months ago I saw a few threads on here about how wonderful this site/board was and how bad it was nowadays with trivia and quarrels galore. Then someone nudged a thread from these very same 'good ole days' and, hey presto, it was asking for the trivia and quarrels to end! We all have paid our dues and therefore we are all entitled to use the site. I have added many times to what you term trivia and, quite frankly, if I've had a hard day then I enjoy coming on here and chatting to those who have become friends. I apologise if this annoys others but I do not apologise for adding threads or adding to those threads. If the amount of messages etc on here and the amount of messages in our inboxes is a contributory factor to the slow-running of the site then what about the number of people in our trees on here? Should we all follow the example of some who only have the one person in their trees? Surely that is the whole purpose of the site.

I'm sure Joan who has quite a large family tree has to much on her hands to come on the general topics board too often, so really ca'nt understand what her problem is but then again life is never easy :-))))))))

Well said Joe! I agree with most of what you put. I, unfortunately, do not have the priviledge of using broadband - nothing other than dialup. Thank you to all who have posted. I do have a large tree - over 3,000 and ALL authenticated by the rest of the huge family from all over the world. I started in 1952 and we have hundreds of family papers and official documents to prove everything. If it is not proven - it is not on there! I mainly post on Tips - would you believe - have for years. Try to help others as much as I have been helped. As for posting another thread - I would be very loath to do so now as it appears that only SOME people are allowed an opinion - and I stated this was MY opinion right at the beginning...and I do not need a nom de plume to do that. Go in peace and have fun.
