Hope you're not asking me directions Dawn LOL. Totally the wrong person here - as I said I lived in Wycombe for 20 years, tried directing my OH to my step-grandmothers house in - oh heck the name of the place has gone, it's not Micklefield but the other 'Field' - anyway, directed him in totally the wrong direction didn't I? ;-)))))))) Problem about Wycombe is you don't half get a lot of funny phone calls - don't you Susie? Lol

Dawn, wouldn't dare 'walk' round Wycombe now, sounds like I'd get lost. I used to know all the alleyways for short cuts to somewhere. There was that one by the guildhall that went past the fire station and towards the college. Not sure of its name - was it Lilleys Walk? Lived in Wycombe for about 20 years but I never did go past the end of frogmoor, haven't a clue what was up there! Have since found out that one of my ancestors graves is in All Saints churchyard, never knew that when I lived there.

My neighbour used to work at the paper mill - he often gave me a wad of paper. They've moved the bus station????? It was perfect where it was, you could get most of your shopping and get on a bus without getting soaked. Is the garage at the bottom of Hatters Lane still there? Spring Onions school? - or have they demolished that as well? It was certainly antiquated even when I was there. Lol

trish the open air car park in bridge street has the main development on it,this includes house of frazer,a 12 screen cinema and apparently a bowling alley!!!! it is being connected to the tesco entrance of the octagon. iceland has gone, they closed that down last year again to make way for the new centre. it is all suppose to open in 2008...well,we will see. the reason i say that is because it is being built by the same company who are building wembly stadium lol susie

Used to like Murrays - especially the clock that went up and down :-))) Used to live opposite the Mead, was usually quiet and great for riding a bike.

Trish can't remember the balls? Woolies was always in the high street for me. Sainsburys was at the end of the octagon but has now moved to near frogmoor and the post officeis in frogmoor. Used to love Murrays in the Octagen hated it when that closed. They did redo the open air swimming pool on the Rye but haven't been to that for years Mead didn't seem to change much Paper mill has gone as has the sewage works are building houses on that. Up the back of Deangarden woods is a ski slope now oh how times change eh

Hi Dawn, they had at some time constructed giant concrete balls along the length of the High Street, I'm sure I've seen a photo of them somewhere. Used to go and watch a film in the cinema (Odeon?) on Frogmoor and then go to the chippy a few doors down and have an eat-in meal upstairs. Was living fairly close to Woolies when it burnt down in the 70's, which I think has now moved to the High Street?

Just had an urge to find out what was going on there lately, have had a look at BFP on-line but not much there. Do they still have giant balls on the High Street (which came after my time there and I still haven't actually seen them). Is Frogmoor still the same? The Rye? The Mead? The Octagon?
