If any of you want look ups on the 1881 Scottish Census disc let me know - one day I'll put it on Tips or Records! That'll be after I get one of those 'round tuit' things!! Kinda stuck on here just now!

No probs, Polly, happy to help.. but had no luck for Lorraine, they were in Sunderland by 1881. One of mine was nowhere to be found on the scotlandspeople site yet the whole family is on this disc - how come one set of transcribers found them yet other didn't? I'm also coming to the conclusion that some death certs are awol - I've got date and place of death yet can't get the death cert. Looks like I need to make time for a visit to Aberdeen Registrars!

Mum was illigitimate and her father was a married man, How many Alexander MacKenzies in Glasgow between roughly 1880 onwards, Lots of them...Father not on birth certificate...
