Been through all this myself with TWO exes. I bit my tongue and never said a word against either of my exes. It paid off - both girls realised for themselves what **** their fathers were and BOTH told their fathers: Mum has never slagged you off - why are you slagging her off? Neither daughter has anything to do with her father now. So sit tight - you are nearly there. Your daughter is very soon going to say she doesnt want to see her Dad. Hope you have the pleasure of telling him why! (Give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves, comes to mind) OC

Aww puss I know how you feel. Thats the trouble when we get rid of a husband we gain an ex! Mine told my two kids that I chucked him out (he left) that I stole money off him, that I had dozens of affairs (pot kettle and no I didn't) That I didnt care a damn about him all the time we were married (is that beside me bending over backwards to please Victor Meldrews evil brother and still not able to do a thing right?) Anyway the upshot is, my daughter hasn't spoken to me for 5 years, and my son still hasn't let me see my newest granddaughter, though we are back on speaking terms. I have kept my mouth firmly shut about him, never said a bad word about him to my kids and been very very careful who I talk to. He on the other hand still rants on and on and word still gets back to me, even though I live 70 miles away. One day, my kids will realise that. I look forward to it. Sorry, this turned into a rant, but you see, I DO understand, and I know how you feel.

And anyway... Why are you letting two uselessly inadequate men make you feel bad about yourself? What judge are they of ANYTHING at all, let alone you ! Who is bringing up your daughter - you are! Pat yourself on the back for your years of hard work with her - I know all about that, neither ex ever gave me a penny in maintenance. My ex and his new girlfriend (who was living in MY half of the house) never stopped going on about my supposed shortcomings to my youngest. She is rather quiet and reserved anyway so she didnt say anything, but excused herself from the table, went upstairs and cleaned the loo with GFs toothbrush!!! We still have a good laugh about that to this day. OC

Mine ( and whoever he was with at the time) tried to put me down!! During the break up, he accused me of being mentally unstable, via his solicitor. I agreed - I'd married him, but, unlike him, I wasn't a tart! He used to pick the girls up every other Friday night - the one day the girls were allowed 'penny sweets' and all the 'E' numbers they contained!!! (this was the '80's) Me, evil? (innocent look) One of his 'friends' tried to have a 'quiet word' with the girls, she was under the impression they had sweets all the time. She told them her children were only allowed so many sweets, because of their teeth - they only had 2 fillings each - wasn't that good?!! My children looked at her and said 'We haven't got any fillings - you're obviously not as good as our mum!' I was sooo proud. My girls are 26 &23 now. They love their dad - he's basically a lovely man who absolutely adores them, and after 20 years, we are friends. However, the girls know EXACTLY what he's like!! He's known as 'the tart' at home lol As for his rellies, he's only got a brother & nephew in Australia, and an elderly aunt here, who the girls & I regularly phone. He married 2 years after we split - but I met all his 'affairs' during this marriage lol Have to admit we make better friends than a married couple!! maggie
