Thank you everyone for your thoughts - my son had a hernia operation some 4 years ago - he was in constant pain from the timeI collected him from hospital. Three years ago he begged consultant to 'go in again' - instead he has been receiving from Pain Clinic an injection which necessitated him being 'put out' every six months - has had about 6 - 7 of these - with no ease of any kind. Yesterday after the op the surgeon came to him - unusual in Day Hospital and told him they had found him/it interesting - apparently the patch used to repair hernia had folded and trapped nerves causing this constant pain. For four years he has not been able to work/walk/sit/sleep for any length of time and has had to rely heavily on us and has had no quality of life whatsoever. Even today he appears to walking easier inspite of bruising and stitches. Fingers crossed he will regain quality of life. Ann |
