Go for the wood, if that's what you want, Maz. The grain is so close, the wood sealed, so I don't think hygiene would be a problem. Anyway I read recently that tests have found that there are often more germs on a car steering wheel than on a toilet. Gwyn |

Wooden loo seats are easier to keep clean and don't scratch as easily as plastic seats. I use flushable Parazone Toilet cleaning wipes, they are also anti bacterial and they are really good. Sue. |

make sure they dont have a join in the wood. If they do they wont last long, also not as cold as plastic ones !! |

They are easy to keep clean Maz as they are sealed so no germs can get in the wood (unless scratched) so a good disinfectant wipe will do :-)) |

Never had a problem with my wooden loo seat, it was well varnished so easily wipe-able. I would say they are just as hygeinic as the plastic ones. |

DON'T LAUGH !!!! It's serious! I need to get a new loo seat. Have always had a plastic one, but I like the look of wooden ones. Can anyone tell me if they are any different to clean or which is more/less hygienic please?! Bear in mind I have an 8 year old BOY !!! Try and keep the jokes to a bare (!) minimum please!! Maz. XX |
