So pleased it's sorted AND that there was a fault. By that I mean it will have restored mil's confidence in her system and also reassured her that a) she was doing nothing wrong b) it's NOT going to happen again jay

IMHO £700 is way over the top for cost. Whether there is a separate fuse or circuit breaker for each floor depends on how the house was originally wired. If it is very old it may have only one lighting circuit. Ours is about 1955 and has separate circuits, but a neighbour's of the same vintage has only one.

Carol...( I dun it again........its Lynda Carol) sorry so pleased that there is a satisfactory result, as was said SOME houses were wired with only ONE lighting circuit, modern ones are more reliable...in having seperate circuits... Bob.......
