my dad died way back in 1977 but I still get emotional at christmas time even more so now that I have 3 grand children. He loved children and he never got to be a grandfather as he died aged just 47. I hope you and your family do find some enjoyment and have time to reflect upon your mums life as well |

So many of us here have lost our Mum's.... and Dad's ... Some maybe years ago now and some of us very recently. My Mum, I know absolutely loved Christmas, it was her favourite time of the year. Mum loved nothing more than having her family around her at Christmas and maybe having a bit of a 'boogie' at New Year. It will be 6 months on New Years Day since she slipped away. This year is going to be terribly difficult, very emotional, but I know that for myself and my family we are going to make an extra special effort this year (as we always have) to make it a wonderful Christmas. I will probably have my own private thoughts and I'm sure there will be tears and I don't know yet how I will cope but... The last thing Mum would have wanted would be for us to be unhappy on Christmas Day. So I, for one, will raise my glass and make a toast to my Mum. I love you Mum Gaynor xxx |
