My first big win was a jar of smarties in one the big jars that sweet shops used to have. That was over 30 years ago. Next win was a Gas BBQ when they first came out in a Tupperware party draw. I had one, the hostess had one and the demonstrator had one. Used for about 10 years until we bought a new one last year. Next and last was 2 tickets 2 years ago the Heineken Rugby Final. That was good! Jacky |

Yes, over the years I have won lots of prizes, from gift vouchers, kitchen equipment, clothing, watches, tickets to shows etc but the best prize I ever won was a holiday for 2 adults and 2 kids at an island resort off the coast of Queensland for a week. My dtr was only a baby at the time so we ended up taking my sons best friend from school. The boys had an absolute ball. Plus I used to always win at least one lucky door prize when we went out to Trivia evenings etc, I used to drive my friends mad as I would walk in and say'Yes, I wouldn't mind that or that' and inevitably I would win something I had pointed out. Tend not to go into as many comps now as I hate all this SMSing stuff or phoning up and leaving a name, address etc. Much prefer to fill in a coupon. My daughter also won a comp on a radio station a few years ago - a dinner at a beautiful restaurant overlooking Sydney Harbour for New Years Eve and 10 dozen bottles of mixer drinks (similar to Vodka Cruisers) Am still waiting to win the big one on Lotto though, so that I can retire after 40yrs in fulltime employment! lol Lyn - Sydney |

Transport, food and everything was included! I took the local disabled childrens group and they loved it. |

It's good to see so many people have had success. I must admit I don't enter as many competitions as I did, so many seem to be phone in these days, and run out expensive I shall look up that site Jeff, sounds interesting Dee x |

I used to do loads of comps and have just started doing the Take a Break ones again as I had stopped due to time restrictions (spending too long on here lol) Over the years I have won a portable tv on a phone in comp, another on a guess the weight of the Dulux dog when our first B & Q opened in Norwich, a personal cd player in a draw at C&A, big box of Thorntons chocs that arrived bashed, so they sent an even bigger one, with 10 cans of Immac hair remover, (cos they were changing the name to Veet I think), a tablecloth, napkins and wine cooler bottlecover, a Dr Barnardo's teddy bear in a raffle, many videos and cds etc, and my son won a whole set of Thundercats figures which he had most of anyway, so we kept them packed up in case they ever become valuable, no ebay then but maybe we should put them on now. Several other things but I can't remember any more at the mo. As someone said, you have to be in it to win it. Liz |

When I was expecting my I won nearly all his nursery equipment through mags. Lots of t-shirts, dvd's books, toys etc. Best I won was a butler, chef & maid for the day, coutersy of Capital Radio. Chris Tarrent said to give the maid the job that I had been putting off for the longest......I left her 4ft of ironing (hate it!) came home to my lounge looking like wing wongs laundry, it was hanging everywhere!!! The chef, well, food was out of this world! Kim |

Without appearing to be big headed ( I've just had the front door widened lol ) I am a member of the Lancashire Authors Association and I have won the first prize for my dialect poems for the last four years. Keeping my fingers crossed and waiting for this years results. If you google Lancashire Authors Association I believe there are some photos on the site. Jeff xx (Cyril) |
