In the official public records are women's first married names or their maiden names used in second or subsequent marriages please? Help in this would be appreciated. Thank you! Ron J

It's complicated Ronald - years ago married women kept their married name - now the times have changed. So it's a toss of the coin I fear.

I used my maiden name for my second marriage....a woman can keep her maiden name even if she is married. When i was divorced, i went back to my maiden name.

I see what you are after however - in the marriage records you would be looking for their previous marriage surname.

On my one my maiden name was used. It just stated divorced and no mention of my previous married name.
