I think this idea of letting people onto this site to do research ,get in touch with other members and use most of the facilities is unfair to paying members,we are paying for them. These people on the fringe should be paying half fees ,which would swell the genes coffers without sticking the extra fees on full members bills. Registering onto genes is NOT free,WE are paying the bill .Fred. |

The FAQ says 'If you choose to upgrade to full membership it costs £9.95 for 6 months'. No mention of the price to renew an existing full membership. Rose |

Isn't this another of their 'market testing' thingies? See how many people will pay for six months at twelve month prices? OC |

Debs, Are you sure you signed up for a year? The quote of $14.49 USD is for 6 months . If you mess around with your country of residence you can see the rates in the various currencies. Rose |

It is that price if you don't renew straightaway, if you have let your membership lapse, it is the price you quote, but if you have continuous membership it is £9.95 per annum. |

this is what it says in FAQs How much does it cost? It is free to register with Genes Reunited. You can build your family tree, use the search facilities to find possible matches to your family name, add notes against relations in your tree and receive emails from other members and reply to these emails. Also, if you already have experience in researching your family history you can import your GEDCOM file on to your Genes Reunited family tree. If you choose to upgrade to full membership it costs £9.95 for 6 months. You will have the ability to contact other members from your search results, link up to view other members' trees when they invite you to do so, post photos on your family tree and add messages to the message boards now if i hadnt have noticed this today, the would have debited my account for £9.50 for just 6 months, with out informing me!! |
