Apart from the paramedics being called out to the evening reception and the previous Mrs Medlock making a quite impressive attempt to kill herself the following day, it was probably the best weekend of my life. Oh and the registrar wouldn't let us choose any music and then played Westlife (Westlife!) when we were signing the register, and he's hissing at me 'Did you choose this?' Wouldn't be without him. Would have loved for my mum and dad and grandparents to have been there, I did have a little cry when I was sat at the top table looking at all my friends and family but not seeing my parents and grandparents there. The only other thing I wish I had done differently was my colour scheme, I wanted my dress to have black embroidery on it and the bridesmaids in black and flowergirls in ivory with black sashes but went with the norm for everyone else, wish now I had stuck to me guns. We had a kilt man, doing the highland fling, I won't tell you what he was flinging, but you can guess :)) BIL, our photographer, got sloshed and ruined all the photos he took. But it turned out ok, we sat for more photos (not with bil) the week after. Heather x |

I'll be married 16 years at the end of June. The actual day itself was wonderful (with the exception of the rain when we were getting photos taken - it rained EVERY Saturday in June 1991!!) I had the dress I wanted, the colour scheme I wanted, the music.... almost everything, in fact!! If I was to have changed anything I think it would have been the photographer - some photos were really good - others weren't as well 'set up' with 1 bridesmaid's flowers crooked, etc. My Mum made the wedding cake - she was a fantastic cook!! The only thing that really spoiled the day (for my Mum) was this: she had bought her outfit and told me to tell OH Mum what colour it was so that they wouldn't clash. OH Mum went out & bought her outfit - the SAME COLOUR!! My Mum was FURIOUS!! Ails x |

I had the most fantastic day,it was 39yrs ago this week,I was so nervous after everybody had left the house for the church that my father gave me a big glass of brandy and made me drink it within minutes, as it was time for my car was to go, at that time I didn't drink.Every body said they'd never seen a bride with such a big smile ,little did they know, mind you it was just as well I'd had the brandy I ended walking down the aisle to the wedding march being played on a piano, the vicar had neglected to tell us the organ was being dismantled for servicing and all the pipes were on the floor down the side of the aisle, but I wouldn't have changed one minute of the day.
