LOL :):):) No the day was a bit of a rush do. Mother in law who hated me but had given permission to spite her ex husband back tracked on whether Hayley and I could get married. We still had the permissions form though :) We sneaked up to the register office in between and obtained a licence without saying but little did we know the register office sent her a letter saying thank you for the permission. What a day that was lol Mother in law turned up where we were staying, big row but still didnt go to the register office to complain, she told us it wouldnt work out and a few other choice words lol Well dear mother in law lol 29 years this year so up yours lol Sorry felt i needed to get that off my chest :) Colin :):) |

Disco cancelled 2 days before, youngest bridesmaid had black eye, another forgot shoes and had trainers on under dress, car broke down at church, I swore on video (shameful I know but can only tell if pointed out!), my dress ripped along the sleeve and to top it off we went to Yugoslavia for our honeymoon and got sent home after a few days as the war started!!! Still together with 2 kids 15 years later though and wouldn't have changed a thing! Dawn |

Colin - pmsl. Yes mine was everything we planned and more, was May and bright and sunny in fact to hot for a May. Had long sleeve heavy satin gown and thought I was going to pass out from the heat. All those invited attended and we had a great time. Didn't want to leave the reception, dinner, dance as we were having to much fun. The DJ was hour late and he didn't have any equipment to play music for another hour. Folks booted us out and sent us on our honeymoon. Didn't plan anything for the honeymoon just got in the car OH said where to and I said Niagara Falls, long weekend no reservations but found this cute little motel, view of the Falls - if you stood on the loo in the bathroom and looked out this teeny window it was way off in the east. air conditioned room - a/c didn't work colour tv - it was black & white and could only get one channel and the Ten Commandments was only thing on. magic finger bed - broken and here's me with no nightie, knickers or bras cause my sisters stole them all out of my suitcase. |

Never heard that before Hayley. Shop got it repaired and been in box ever since. My eldest says she wants to wear it for hers (only 10), that's what I said to my mum, only problem was my mum was that tiny, hers fit me perfectly when I was 13! She was gutted as she thought I would wear it, but by the time I was 21 it wouldn't go anywhere near! LOL |

Yes, lovely.....it had rained all week, and the sun came out as we came up to the church, and we had a week of Indian Summer in October 1965....temperatures in the high 60's/70's.... My Sister, a bridesmaid cried all the way through the service, and after.....there was scaffolding round the church spire and the church bells were played on a tape......the organist played the Trumpet Voluntary instead of the Wedding March.......but I didn't care.....loved him then, love him now,...... |

Well if I tell you I got married on February 29th you'll get some inkling!!! I loved my man, we'd been together for 6 years and I was 4 months pregnant- morning sickness etc. We didn't really want to get married but his work (agricultural fitter) meant low wages and tied cottages so I felt i had to have some sort of security so we arranged a small registry office wedding. Witnesses: My ex's aunt, who brought her best friend Jay (Sri Lankan) and my mum, who brought her hubby, the fascist fuhrer. Dad was incognito in Nigeria (probably just as well!) Brother was going to be best man. Sister couldn't come as she was heavily pregnant with her second. Wedding car - Morris Minor van in a fetching shade of rust cover grey. We parked in the Social Security car park. Brother's motorbike broke down so no best man. Ex's aunt & my mum signed the register leaving Jay (remember she's Sri Lankan) with mum's hubby (the fascist) sitting together. Back to ours for food. Ex's workmates came up in their lunch hour. I went to bed with a bucket lol It did last 7 years. And it went more smoothly than my sisters. Someone bought her a washing-up bowl as a present - then proceeded to up-chuck in it!! Mind you, Sis has been married 30 years. maggie |

NOPE! Oh and I got drunk at a street party on Charles & Diana's wedding day, so we decdided we'd get hitched also! Went to see Vicar (well assistant Bishop of Guildford) he could only fit us in 8 weeks later, paaaannnniiiicccckkk! Couldn't find a dress I like, so went into the Co-op in Reading for a laugh, and there was 'my' dress, then 2 days before wedding Oh brakes his toes, GREAT!. On the morning Someone in the house had turned off the hot water, so no bath! got to hairdressers..... too busy over booked..can't do hair (even tho booked!)... no one told me you stitched veil to headress, had to rush out to buy white hair grips, with manky hair. Cuz came to wish me good luck at the church and burnt 2 holes in the veil. Photo's look like they were taken at midnight not 2pm, as weather was damn grim, pouring with rain and cold. Went to real posh hotel for the night, opened bottle of Asti (posh stuff in thosedays! lol), whcih was not allowed, cork went through ceiling! I went to sleep while Oh stayed up to watch the Grand Prix, ok so there was only 1/2 point between Lauder & Prost and this was the deciding race, but......................!!!! The honeymoon was worse!!! I didn't pack him any clothes! oops sorry slipped my mind!! lol 25 years on though we still laugh! Kim |
