I got mine tree years ago and actually drove home wearing them. Once you get used to the fact that you have to move your head up or down so as to use the correct bit of the lens it is easy.

Hi Brian Well fortunately Specsavers give you a period of 30 days to get used to them - so I guess I can change to 2 pairs if I really need to - but it would be far from ideal for me to be honest, so I am keeping my fingers crossed ..........

I have varifocals for the office but found them deadly when driving : I was looking through the reading portion at the mirrors in the car and on the motorbike, so I've kept a separate distance pair fror driving.

Julie They are basically bi-focals - I now need distance AND reading - some folk have 2 pairs of glasses, but that's not practical for me With varifoculs the lenses are crafted so that the reading part of the lens does not show

...... and I'm not too happy about - but I sensed it was coming so it wasn't too much of a shock - does this mean I will be constantly looking down at people - and falling up steps?? Yes - I have to have VARIFOCALS :O(((
