Hello everyone. A dreary day for us, still rather cold so not getting outside at all.
Not feeling great at the moment, I had a bad day yesterday felt a bit "iffy" for most of the day, was in bed before 7-00 & fell asleep straight away (for a change) however I was woken up 2 hours later with a really bad pain in my chest & an erratic heart beat !
I sat in the bedroom chair for a short while wondering if I would manage to get downstairs to call my daughter, it took me a while but I managed to get to the phone & called her, she came over & phoned 911.
After 2 hours waiting for the Paramedics my chest pain has eased up & my heart beat was back to "normal" when the Paramedics arrived I was over the worst, they were very good & did the various checks including an ECG & this apparently showed no heart attack ! They were very good & reluctantly accepted my reluctance to go to the hospital, but did suggest that I arrange to see my GP for a follow up.
Daughter returned to her own home at about 4-00 & I got into bed,I slept until around 7-30, felt a bit "sluggish" but no signs of what had gone on through the night, that was very scary !. I have taken things very slowly today, & awaiting a GP appointment to be arranged.
Hping all is well with you all,
Joan.

Florence - the daffs photo wasn't taken this year. A few are in bloom now, but not as advanced as that.
Linda - what a resourceful and capable (not to mention willing) husband you have!
Sylvia - so glad to hear the news of the attacker's sentence, and hope the house sale goes smoothly.
Ginnie - strange about that house. You'll have to rush out and accost the checker-upper next time they're there, and interrogate them!
Dry and sunny today, and not too cold. No gardening, though. I had an appointment in town at mid-day, plus a bit of shopping, and didn't feel energetic enough for the garden when I got back!

I am pleased that your husbands attacker has finally been jailed Sylvia. I hope the house sale is over and done with soon, all the form filling is a real pain
I went into Harrogate for yet another dental appointment this morning. This time was to try the mock up of the new teeth. They looked a bit long to me, so he shortened them. Now the real ones are being made and they will finally be fitted in two weeks. I had lunch in Marks and looked at their sale. I couldn’t really be bothered because everything was so squashed up on the racks. I did notice though that the cords I bought two weeks ago were now half price :-(
OH had been dismantling the fence at the bottom of the garden all day. He has taken all the planks off and got two of the posts out so far. Some of the planks are still in good condition, so he is going to use them to make some compost bins and raised beds once the new fence is up

Morning all Overcast and showery here today. Bin day and already neighbours bin was blown over but we retrieved it and now have stones on top of ours.
Sylvia, so very glad to hear the news about your OH's attacker, such a relief for you. Roll on 28 march for you as that will be another relief for you both too.
AG your daffies are so advanced as mine are nowhere near the flowering stage yet but are growing well.
I was in the tunnel yesterday planting up veg seeds and now several trays are on the shelves watered and hopefully will start shooting in about 10 days. I planted a rhubarb bulb and its already sprouted now although no rhubarb this year but next year should have some to eat.
I am nearly over my chest infection but daughter now has it quite badly. She is seeing a dr later on today and hopefully may get antibiotics to clear it up. Being diabetic and not eating when unwell send her bloods all out of sync as well.
Lots of housework to catch up on as not done much last few days so plenty to keep me busy.
Have a good day all.
JG, darts final was great! :-D

Pleased to hear that the man who attacked your OH has been sentenced to 2 years Sylvia. Hopefully your house sale will go through smoothly now.
Lovely and sunny here and I have put some washing out. It may not dry completely but at least it will get an airing.
The house next door is still empty it is really odd that no one has been in it for around 2 years . Someone comes every few weeks to check I suppose but then goes away again. They did clean it out when the last tenants left and redecorated all through but no one moved in. The heating is on as we can see the outlet pipe from our back door .

Thanks for the daffodil photo AG, brightens up the site.
Sylvia, good to hear the the sentence on theman who attacked your OH is at least a serious one. It does sound a lot stricter than he would have got in this country, although maybe he has 'previous'. good to get that out of the way anyway. And hope all goes through quickly ok with the house sale.
a nice sunny morning here, -1 but with a promise of a 10 degrees high later.

One big stress off my shoulders!!!
The guy who attacked OH back last June was sentenced last Thursday.
He got 2 years in jail with programming ordered, 2 years probation and a DNA forensic analysis which is the determination of dna structure for future use of his identity.
He has received credit for the 240 or so days he has already spent in jail, so will only be behind bars for about another 160 days.
Hopefully he will be receptive to the programming ordered.
But that means no more calls to daughter or myself to make another statement or another postponement.
But now is almost the end of the sale of the house, and I'm beginning to get messages from the notary public we are using to fill in forms, supply records etc etc.
Roll on March 28th!
Then I will really relax

I hope that you manage to get your heater fixed AG. On the other hand if it is very old a more modern one would probably be much more efficient, but as you say, that comes at a cost. It has been a sunny day here, but very chilly and now the sun is going down, the temperature is dropping fast. We went to my daughters this afternoon, so I could do the last alterations to the pelmet I made for Esme’s play room. My daughter decided that she wanted an extra set of ruching which was what I was going to do in the first place :-| Anyway, it is done now and back up. It just needs a little bit of straightening out, but we left her to it as it was getting late and I needed to get the pork joint in for tonight’s dinner. Thank goodness for the air fryer as it cooks things faster

Grey and cloudy, with a cold wind here - but it's not raining! I've been out with my loppers the last couple of days, chopping back overgrown bushes while the dry spell lasts, and before the midge season starts - and also before the birds start building their nests.
One of my very old storage heaters stopped working yesterday, so tomorrow I'll have to try to find someone who's willing to have a look at it. I hope it's repairable, and isn't going to mean a whole new expensive heater. But I'm very thankful that it didn't break down in the middle of winter!

It's a very sunny day here but also very cold our rear garden has a layer of frost. The frost has gone from the front as it gets the sun from early on but not until afternoon out the back. Our kitchen is always the coldest room as it is always in the shade.
Hope you are feeling better Florence, such a shame you had to miss your friends funeral. Have you been watching the Darts on TV.? I'd like either Luke H. or Luke L. to win.
Nothing planned for today so I might do a bit on my tree I want to try and find a couple of baptisms that have eluded me so far. I have a family with 3 daughters and have found 2 baptisms but the eldest girls I can't find at all. I have all the other info on them so it would be nice to have the missing bit.

Oh dear Florence, it was a shame about the funeral. I suppose that you caught it while you were mixing with people on the mainland.
I am tired today because it was almost midnight when we got back from babysitting. Esme wasn’t too bad, I expected her to drop off to sleep watching her iPad as she usually does, but she has been taken off her nighttime melatonin. She still has other medication to make her go to sleep, but whatever the new combination is doesn’t zonk her out. She was determined to stay awake until mummy came home and she did! It was 11.35/by the time they got back. Her mum was amazed that she had managed to stay awake.

Bright day here but getting chilly and some sharp showers about.
Just starting to make a chicken curry for tonight with all the trimmings.
Hoping everyone is keeping well today :-D

I saw the three major planets the other evening. It is supposed to be very clear here tomorrow, so I will look again. The problem is that you really need to be able to see the horizon to view the lower ones and we can’t do that here.
I spent the afternoon playing with Esme, she was a lot better, so is going back to school tomorrow, so I will have to go to the school bakery as I usually do on Friday morning. We are babysitting tomorrow night as well. They are taking Eve to see Hamilton which is on at Bradford, but not Esme. They will need to leave about 6 pm and won’t be back until nearly 11pm. To make it up, her mum is taking Esme to see a children’s puppet show at Harrogate theatre on Saturday. That won’t stop her winging tomorrow night though !

It was sunny this morning, so I hung washing out, and then went off to the village hall for our community lunch. Part-way through lunch I looked out and saw that it was pouring with rain. Aaaaghhh!
By the time I came home after lunch, my washing was wetter than when I put it out - so now it's drying indoors.
The sun came out again in late afternoon - but too late to be of any use.
I think it will be too cloudy here to see the planets, Gwyn. I'll probably forget to look out, in any case!

So sorry to read your sad news Florence.Such a happening would always be sad, but even more so with someone relatively young and it being unexpected.
A welcome dry day today, after yesterday's downpours. It was really hammering down onto the roof of the garden centre, when I was out with daughter yesterday. The numerous potholes on the way home along a country road were filled with the water, but daughter had memorised them and their location after a previous trip this week. Come to that, our nearest motorway has a poor surface in places, but that is little wonder because of all the foreign lorries thundering along it every day.
Anyone looking out tonight to see the planets aligned?

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. That is very young to died.
I lost my brother when he was 61, and could hardly believe it for the longest time, but he had heart trouble almost all his life and was scheduled to go into hospital for scans to determine which treatment would be best just 1 week after he died.
Ann .............. OH is not that far into dementia, he has "episodes" of being in la-la-land but otherwise sounds fairly normal. For example, yesterday evening he knew he was in isolation, but thought he had been in there already for 3 days so would be coming out today :-S
The major problem he has at the moment is the forgetfulness, and that he gets lost when he goes out. It was hard at home to stop him going out walking or to the shops, and I got into the habit of memorising what he was wearing, just in case ..........
That and the fact that he sometimes got very angry with me for no reason (no physical abuse, I hasten to add!) is really why he's in a safe unit and unable to get out of the unit.
Linda ............ we each have a phone, the Residence has its own phone system (and also its own WiFi), so we only have to dial the last 4 numbers of the 7 number code! It's a bit like working for a large company or a university! So, yes, we can phone each other. However, I've had to give OH a "do not phone after 7 pm" order, because he kept phoning later! I start my winding and calming down about then.
