When I got up this morning I found several peanuts on the floor at the end of the bed.

I never buy peanuts and the packet of mixed nuts I bought for Christmas doesn't have peanuts in it. They were definitely from a packet, so I ruled out mice and squirrels, both unlikely culprits anyway.

When OH got up some time later he asked me why there were peanuts on the counterpane!!!

We thought about it and discussed it for ages and, as the only "unusual" thing in the bedroom was a shirt that OH had for Christmas and which he had just unwrapped ready to wear, we reckoned that the person who had been folding and packing the shirts had been eating peanuts! :-| :-|

It made a change from the current gloomy news anyway. :-D
