Was having a few focusing problems recently so thought I needed new glasses

Having told the optician what was happening and him checking me and recommending a test which they did ,seems I have developed age related dry macula degeneration in the right eye

It’s not that bad at the moment so we decided to check again in 6 months as an operation can be done that can slow it down but not reverse the damage it has already done

The hospital is some drive away and has a lot of COVID cases so am reluctant to go there at the moment

Am just hoping it won’t stop me driving as living on my own I need to drive to do what I need

The optician said driving is ok still at the moment :-(

Provided that your other eye is OK, you should be able to continue driving. I know of at least two people who only have one eye and they are driving around fine.

Good to hear that you can still drive, Shirley.
I'm sure they will keep a check to monitor how you go on.

I understand your concerns about going to your local hospital in the present situation.
I have been to 3 different hospital clinics near here during this present lockdown and was impressed by the precautions they were taking even before you entered the building.

Gwen they want me to go to Maidstone hospital which is quite a drive away

I did have both eye cataract ops there as did hubby

When hubby was deteriorating and we couldn’t get to Maidstone they did arrange for him to go to the local Medway hospital

Tbh if I need to go to hospital I would prefer to go local
