Sadly, it has been announced that Nigel has died.

Nigel was the dog that belonged to Monty Don.

So sad. Perhaps that's why Monty Don introduced a new younger dog recently.... called Nellie I think.
He will still miss his old faithful friend I'm sure.

Nigel's death was sudden.
He has another dog apart from Nellie - Pattie, a Yorkshire Terrier - but neither are as camera loving as Nigel was! :-D
