A question for our members in Canada?
At the end of our visit to family on Vancouver Island, our sister in law drove us to the airport. There was a barrier at the carpark entrance:-

“Anyone got a dookie?”
“What’s that?”
“A dollar”
So I pulled out the coins that I had and gave her a dollar. I asked why it was called a dookie, so she showed me the duck on the reverse side. I guess I should have thought of that! What I didn’t think of was to ask her whether that was just her pet name, or was the term widely used.
And if widely used, what about the other coins that I still have?
