Look on the bright side. You live in God's own country.

Yes I know Bob and I love it. but Snow isn't good when I live in a small village with only one shop a mile and a quarter down the road.

I just think back to when I lived just on the other side of the Pennines, and we used to get loads!!

I spent a year in Catterick and as I remember it snowed every day and the temperature didn't rise above zero. Hang on a minute, I do remember sunny afternoons with a local lass (no names, no pack drill) on the banks of the river Swale. Happy days.

I am not a country person but I do think Swaledale is lovely.

OH and I love to visit - he, especially, because some of his ancestors came from Muker and some are interred there too.

OH's relations come from Yorkshire, Westmorland, and Lancashire ............ that little area where all 3 counties used to meet. They used to move from corn mill in one county to corn mill in another, usually exchanging between cousins or close connections, makes them very difficult to to trace as all families liked the same forenames.

His father was born near Winterburn in North Yorkshire
