Like Emma ..... Still OK here. I hung bedding on the line before I went out and it dried lovely. It is raining now though - but so far, we've been lucky.

Barb, I don't use a mobile either. I have an old one for emergencies so it's switched off unless 'I' want to use it. I prefer the freedom of not being 'on tap'.

:-( :-( :-( :-( They didn't make the plane. Aquaplaned on the A42 in dreadful conditions at 5 am. All safe but Range Rover a write off. Her breakdown people refused to put the vehicle on a tow truck due to the amount of damage :-S :-S :-S. The delay cost them their flight. Breakdown company have admitted they were in the wrong and paid to get them home by taxi.

She's already sent stinging emails to the breakdown company and her insurance people. Insurance people have been on to breakdown company and they have admitted it was their fault they didn't get to airport on time, it could be costly for them.

M1 was flooded as well as the A and M42. Highways England were very busy as there were so many accidents everywhere. Police didn't even speak to them, just pulled up and asked the Highways England man if they were all OK and then shot off to attend more serious accident. No other vehicles involved.

Daughter has bump on head and step daughter a black eye, both injuries from side airbags deploying (side impact) and her OH has mild whiplash. All seeing their doctor tomorrow.

It was her company vehicle. She says the Range Rover is such a sturdy car it saved them from more serious injury.

Disappointed they aren't coming but very grateful they are all OK.

Wow, you have had a time of it!

Dare I say (without putting a hex on it), the sun is coming through here with just a light breeze still around. We have been very lucky this time - even the camellia flowers were not blown off! Lots of white ones been on ages and some now turning brown; but no pink ones out yet.

I hope the weather eases for those who have suffered. <3
