RIP Ken, you entertained all your life. The Diddy people will be in mourning in the jam buttie mines of Bilston (joke from a Birmingham pantomime I saw him in many years ago).

You were my mum's favourite.

RIP - wonderful comedian. Glad to hear he at last married his long suffering girlfriend of 40 years.

I had the privilege to meet and speak to him on two occasions in the late 1960's and early 1970's when he twice opened the summer fete at my mum's church. My brother and I played in a band at the time and we provided the P.A. system.

BBC mentioned one of his favourite lines about sticking a cucumber through the letter box and shouting "help the Martians have landed"

Actually the line was more like "You'd better watch out Missus, the Martians have landed" just that subtle bit of inuendo....!

RIP Ken Dodd...a true scouser <3

Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I posses
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness

To me this old world is a wonderful place
And I'm just about the luckiest human in the whole human race
I've got no silver and I've got no gold
Just a whole lot of happiness in my soul

Happiness, happiness, the greatest gift that I posses
I thank the Lord I've been blessed
With more than my share of happiness

Happiness to me is an ocean tide
Or a sunset fading on a mountain side
Or maybe a big old heaven full of stars up above
When I'm in the arms of the one I love

Happiness is a field of grain
Lifting its face to the falling rain
I can see it in the sunshine, I breathe it in the rain
Happiness everywhere

Happiness, happiness,…

Wonder if they'll sing Happiness at his funeral?

They did for an old relative of mine. <3

I remember going to see him many years ago and he was getting on then! He cracked quickfire jokes and kept us all tittering all night. We don't know how he remembered them all or where he got his stamina from. True to reputation, people were having to leave for their transport long before he finished, much to his amusement. We all left with smiles on our faces.

What a gift he had, he was a one off and at the last funeral I went to last year they sang 'Happiness'. It summed up how he was to his public.

I watched two of the tributes last night and thought he was just a bloke doing his job to the best of his ability.

There was absolutely no fame about him, no glamour. He was more like an academic researching his subject tirelessly to do his job properly.

This will be how he has lasted through six decades I think.

Sadly, there's a tickling stick standing forlornly, in a corner,

RIP Ken,

A set of Darts in a glass, a dartboard gathering cobwebs,,

have a drink fer me Jim,

and also, I heard, Bob Hollness has given out his last connect, "I'll have a "P"(int),Bob..

Rest in peace...

Sadly Stephen Hawking has joined with these others,
That computer voice will live forever, along with his theories...
