UPDATE ...................

Our friend died on Friday.

He had another MRI which showed a larger mass, so plans were completed.

He wanted it to happen yesterday (Saturday) which was his 78th birthday, but the doctor wouldn't do it on a Saturday. So they settled on Friday.

He went out for dinner with friends on Thursday evening, he laughed and joked and had a great time.

He died peacefully, with his favourite music playing in the background.

I hope I would be as brave as him if I were in a similar situation

My sympathy on your sad loss, Sylvia. What a brave man your pal was, a calm dignified passing as he wanted after a nice time out with friends to fill his mind with good memories. May he rest in peace now. Remember your happy times together.

I am glad that we do have the opportunity now in Canada to make that choice if and when it becomes necessary.
