Changes to way Scotlands People process payments

When I went to the payment screen this morning, I thought that does not look right, so thought I would check it out, with all the online fraud that is doing the rounds, better to be safe than sorry.

I should not have needed to contact them to find out if they had changed the way they process their payments as I would have thought the least they could have done was to highlight this change on their site.

Can't wait :-|

I already have problems with some (out of Australia) sites I buy from.

I am not the main card-holder, so the bank won't give me the information needed; they say it's a security measure. Great. So OH gave me the info and I wrote it down....... that's really secure!

The world's gone mad!

When I purchased some credits on Scotlands People this morning I noticed the payment screen had changed, in view of all the scams and hacking that is going on, especially at tis time of year I decided to check with them.

I sent them a message and this was their reply, so if you use Scotlands People do not worry when you see a new payment screen, as the e-mail below shows, they have changed the way they process payments, I will also post this on Genealogy Chat Board:-

Dear Mr *******

Thank you for your query.

We have made a change to the payment gateway we use on the ScotlandsPeople website. Transactions are now carried out using Datacash, the leading global payment processing service.

When a transaction is processed, you will receive an email from ScotlandsPeople to confirm your purchase.

Datacash does not send out a separate transaction email as our previous payment gateway did.

However, the transaction confirmation sent by ScotlandsPeople will contain details of purchase and the transaction reference number.

Kind Regards,
