Hi Ann,

On my home computer I don' have these but we are getting loads of them at work, at first glance they look official and from e mail addresses like HMRC, Companies House, any bank you care to think of etc!

But they all contain an attachment with a zip file, which is a virus.

Kind regards
Amanda

Actually, it used to be Boracic Lint a medicated dressing.......

from wikipeadia

Boracic lint was a type of medical dressing made from surgical lint that was soaked in a hot, saturated solution of boracic acid and glycerine and then left to dry.

It has been in use since at least the 19th century,[1] but is now less commonly used.

The term boracic lint, or often just "boracic", pronounced "brassic", is also used as Cockney rhyming slang for having no money - "boracic lint" ? "skint."[2]

Urban Dictionary,
What seems to be an open site, available to ALL ages, that uses disgusting interpretations of common words,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Now THAT is a site that ought to be banned!!

and we, on a supposedly adults only site can't write normal body like words, or jokes on here without getting a wrist slapping.....at least........

Bob.

Perhaps an early Christmas gift from Santa AnnC? You must have been VERY GOOD.

It may be real, SueM. Love came down at Christmas. She may be a lovely person. The bank deposit may be genuine. I now have a deep and loving friendship with a Nigerian woman who lost her very wealthy husband in a plane crash and the Nigerian government froze his assets.

I have been able to console her in her tragic loss and we have been able to release those assets to our mutual benefit.

And I am far less cynical about these matters - which the foolish call "scams".

Spend! Spend! Spend! AnnC :-D

Bob, it's up to the owners of individual websites what they allow.
And GR's rules are quite clear.

Ann, it surely is not from your bank.
The clue - in my opinion - are the words ...
"If the transaction was made by mistake ..."
Banks NEVER think of that dreaded work 'mistake'.
.
Only WestJet does nice things for their customers - apart from recently damage irreparably my luggage ....
