Terrible terrible pain un discribable ........

But it feels like a pot of maggots wiggling under your skin!! Lumps under your arms neck and grain ....and it goes on for weeks and weeks and if you are un lucky which you are not! years

Take the anti virial drugs even if you dont bother with the pain killers or the years will apply

REST REST and REST is the only treatment

Mine comes and goes if I,m run down and its here now and hurts so much I want to cry! :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-\ :-\ :-\

I'm pleased you're on the mend Carol, I have never had it myself, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to help with some advice.

Monday 18th November.
Having felt very unwell all weekend, with cronic pain in my midriff & right side, I got an appointment with GP at 10am.
Sent straight to Surgical Assessment Unit at our local hospital with letter from GP, via A&E as no bed available.
12.30 a bed available so taken up to ward
I am kept Nil by Mouth, examined twice, told registrar will be there soon, but they have had a surgical emergency. Given paracetamol for pain.
Finally at 1030pm the registrar arrives, examines me and ... I have a rash :-0

SHINGLES... ISOLATION

I then spent Tuesday in solitary confinement, with a brief escape to have a scan.
I escaped home on Wednesday evening, with a bag full of anti-virals & pain killers

Starting to feel a bit better in myself now but still very sore

I have Googled, but nothing like finding out from people who have actually had it.

What helped?
