White vinegar with a drop of lavender oil does a great job.

I remember Windolene it was a nightmare to get off if you left it for too long, but gave lovely sparkling windows, also I used Tinkerbelle it was the same principle but it was white. I now use a Karcher window Vac, takes away all the hard work and the windows are gleaming.

Sorry Kuros, I wasn't sure of GR's policy of mentioning stores, I was referring to Home Bargains.

I used to use 1001 floor cleaner and wipe off with a decent newspaper = brilliant
windows. Now hubby cleans them with I don't know what LOL

My mum used to soak a rag in parafin, wash it out and clean the windows with it and it worked.

Well I cant get it locally but have found Tescos own brand window cleaner is good especially if you use one of the micro window cleaner fabric sheets to clean it off.

I do use too the Karcher window vac together with the micro fabric for our floor to ceiling glass wardrobe fronts

So you can still get it. I've tried the clear stuff in a spray and didn't like it much. It's not in any supermarkets round here. I'll have to look elsewhere. Where's H***B*******?

So good to see fellow Windolene fans!

I've been using the pink one for years, nothing beats it. I can't remember how the conversation of cleaning windows came about but I recommended it recently to a young lass who cold-called trying to get me to change my telephone / broadband

Not many places sell it these days, at the moment I have one in the cupboard, one in my secret stash of cleaning products in the loft. £1.99 ish from H*** B*******

Still Pink, and looks the same but not in spray container this way Ann. :-)

I have tried everything else but nothing does the job like windolene.

Not many places sell it but when I do happen to see it I stock up.

You can still get windolene but it is clear in a spray bottle, and I don't think it as good as the old stuff.

Hi Annie, :-)
Plentiful supply here in Nottingham, think the oh gets it from Morrisons or Tescos.
But its nothing like it used to be for performance. :-(
Its seems oily and takes a lot more time to get rid of these faint smeary marks.... It used to be a lot lot better years ago.

You know, the old-fashioned pink stuff in a bottle. You can't find it anywhere now and nothing else does the job as well. Has it just disappeared from my neck of the woods or everywhere else too? I'm watering down the tiny bit I have left.
