She did! Tess Daly did call the Gary Barlow song "sink" lol I thought I'd misheard her last night but the repeat is just on. She annoys me more than anyone...apart from Nick Grimshaw...can't warm to him at all ( he' d probably not like me either to be fair :-) ).

What i dont think is right about TW is that it came out either last year or the year before that he gets paid £10,000.00 to host children in need!!!! sorry but i dont donate when i think that my donation will go towards paying him. When this came out a lot of people were outraged at him.

I naievely thought that all the celebs gave their time for free?

Can somone please correct me if im wrong?

Florence, TW does not get paid out of donations, and never has, he is/was paid by the BBC itself.

"Do Presenters receive a fee for presenting the BBC Children in Need Appeal?
BBC Children in Need, the charity, has NEVER paid a fee to Presenters on the show. In the past, his presenting fee for the Appeal Show has come out of the BBC's programming budget, and not charity funds, because it was a TV production cost. However, Terry has said that he never sought a fee for presenting BBC Children in Need.
Since the first telethon in 1980 Sir Terry has been very involved with BBC Children in Need behind the scenes - both as a high-profile ambassador and more recently as a Trustee. He makes regular, unpaid, appearances on behalf of the charity and, as a member of the board of Trustees, he is also directly involved in setting our strategy and in allocating funds to projects that aim to change children's lives. We are very grateful for his unfailing commitment and popularity which play a vital role in our fundraising efforts."

There is a run down on how the charity covers it's running costs here:

Thankyou Rose for clearing that up.Grateful for the info too as i didnt know the full facts. I have to say when it was said i really didnt want to believe that he would take a fee from donations.

Its so amazing that even in a recession, the public are still generous in supporting so many people who need help. long may it continue.

I do donate to many other charities throughout the year, mostly local but especially a local hospice.
