David Crane's widow (he was the person killed) ought to see if the French motorist can be sued under civil law.

Why should he be let off any lighter than someone who habitually drives in the UK?

Awful.

Living as I do not far from Channel Tunnel and ports, we see many foreign lorries on our roads.
Dare we venture out if they are not deemed to be responsible if they forget which country they are in and drive on the wrong side of the road?
