Yes - I've had real trouble logging on and don't know if my message went to support or not.

Have managed to get in using Chrome which is not generally enabled on our machines as it has 'taken over' in the past.

Unlike a lot of people I've NEVER had the Error problem before.

Yes - directly after I installed IE11 yesterday (separate thread on this begun by Mrs. M.) I re-installed GR on Firefox, works fine and I can now get GR on IE11 but with that error banner on top. I have also this afternoon been able only to access my bank but not able to type my passwords, again re-installed on Firefox satisfactorily. Accessed a web-mail account but unable again to type passwords, got in another way.

Yesterday after reading Mrs M's thread I contacted out computer adviser, who said he had installed IE11 satisfactorily so far no hiccups noted, but that it didn't mean there weren't any, advised setting a recovery point which I did.

I don't think we can blame Genes for this one!

Last night I signed out of GR hoping the error banner would be gone in the morning.
This morning I went to GR via my favourites the home page said Register and at top right Sign In.

I wondered what you can see without Signing in, I clicked on Community and the other headings at the top of page and all are working as normal. But it still says Sign In.

The error banner has gone.

I can get on to Genes via IE, get on to community, went to a quizzes thread but on trying to submit my contribution got the error message (general error, not GR's) again and l cannot navigate further. All well on Firefly so not blaming GR.

No But I frequently get

" Genes reunited is not responding.................recover webpage........."
or
There is an error caused by a long running script.........stop script?

now I don't know if its my lappie crawling through cold treacle or my rubbish internet connection.........and when a page refreshes/changes, its ages till my mouse can scroll the page............

As I said earlier ,all my hiccups - including others besides on GR -happened after installing IE11. Now I normally don't investigate what's there when Windows produce updates to install, I only checked and asked advice after reading Ronald's warning on the other thread. I think plenty of people will have installed it automatically this week (on Tuesday) when it was made available to Windows 7 without checking what they were installing.

I see there are a few grumbles quoted in a thread on Google
