I thought that may be the problem but on checking it was the identical size to the one uploaded here. :-)

Sometimes an image may be too large.
You can resize it in "Paint" and save as a Jpeg at the same time. :-)

Ha ha Island. You told me ages ago how to do it and I wrote it down . . . . . somewhere :-D

The format was Jpeg so I can't see what the problem was.

I know how to change formats but don't know how to make it sound really complicated. ;-)

I had the same problem a couple of days ago Ann, but it was OK when I changed the format to JPEG. I googled how to do that, but I'm sure our resident clever-clogs will tell you what to do soon ;-)

I have quite a few photos in my album that I have tried to use but not the right format (PNG) so I now make sure they are (JPEG)

I know nothing about computers but know about that

I note that the lead developer (is that pronounced leed or led?) is now looking at emoticons after all this time. So hopefully this beef will be next.

My main beef is searching for a surname on my 24k tree. I do need that search facility to work - and just sometimes it does. But most times I write to "hot matches" now and say I cannot find the person on my tree. :-( And I do like to help if I can - that was main reason why I have got such a big tree.

I have problems every time try to do anything in my account.

Because my name is longer than now allowed it tells me so, I try to shorten it & then get the 'Sorry. An error has occurred' banner.

Strangely it does change the avatar but nothing else :-S

Never had that problem before. Tried to upload one photo (tywice) but got the message 'photo not of correct format.' Uploaded another one from the same day's photos, same camera, same card, and thatw as ok. So what was that all about? :-S
