So sorry this is late Eileen, I am glad you had lots of people helping you support your special birthday and I wish you many happy returns of the day. Enjoy your celebrations with your friends too.

I hope your s.i.l. will be ok and will get his op soon as possible to make life easier for him and your daughter. Such a shame they couldn't be with you and that they will lose the money they spend but his health is most important and I can understand you worrying.

Darn, I typed a reply to this, clicked on 'preview' instead of 'submit'....left the site, bingo, post vanished!
Anyway, I want to thank you all for your kind wishes for my 70th (!!!) birthday.It was a very busy couple of days, daughters and their families all staying over here.One said that my front room lookes like a funeral parlour with all the bouquets of flowers.lol...there were only 12 of us today, eldest daughter & husband had booked ages ago fly from Carcassonne, but s.i.l did his back in yesterday doing something far too heavy..(he should have been operated on years ago, has a bad hernia which makes it difficult to walk or stand for long) so, kind neighbours carried him indoors and laid him flat on the floor.Doc. has been twice, gave morphine and steroid injections, nothing helped, so am waiting to hear what the next step is.They won't get a refund for the air tickets and car rental this end, but, that is the least important factor.Am very worried now.
Everyone left about 15 minutes ago, it was only family today,will celebrate with friends on another day.
