Come, look with me inside this drawer,
In this box I've often seen,
At the pictures, black and white,
Faces proud, still, and serene.
I wish I knew the people,
These strangers in the box,
Their names and all their memories,
Are lost among my socks.
I wonder what their lives were like,
How did they spend their days?
What about their special times?
I'll never know their ways.
If only someone had taken time,
To tell, who, what, where, and when,
These faces of my heritage,
Would come to life again.
Could this become the fate,
Of the pictures we take today?
The faces and the memories,
Someday to be passed away?
Take time to save your stories,
Seize the opportunity when it knocks,
Or someday you and yours,
Could be strangers in the box.

I was going through some old photo's this morning Barb and pencilled on the back who is who.

Sad to think that in years to come someone might look at them and not have a clue who they are.

Sad also to think Prinkles that most photos are taken on phones. :-(

Funnily enough not so long ago I was going through a deep drawer full of photo's and divided them up by different families, holidays, all my work photo's the grandchildren etc etc. I had already written the dates on the back of a lot of them.

I have only just got a digi camera and must learn to put them on my lappy. I do like hard copies though and its only been a short while ago I have put some of my ancestors around my home. I enjoy looking at them :-D
