He didn't seem any worse for his long day.

Went to the café, had turkey and ham pie with vegetables. Came home and had a kip. Got up, washed up, finished the washing, had a scone, several cups of tea. Signed a document for the SSAFA man, showed him his medal .

Pretty standard day in the life of the young executive.

Went on the commode, had his bum powdered and had his glass of whisky.

He will be waiting for his late night cup of tea now.

A logistical nightmare, arranging Fred's diary Sharron, especially when some things can't be fixed to be on time.

Still, as long as he didn't miss out on the sausage sandwich.....

Wondering about the mindless indulgence?

Of course it was that day again, so Fred was lunchtime commoded by midday. I was out by then as I have had a day of mindless indulgence.

The shopping was done and the sausage sandwich demolished. Backhome but not for long.

The ambulance was there about ten minutes after he got off the bus to whisk him o. In fact he he seemed to be quite disappointed that it was only a consultation.ff to the eye clinic for three.

Not many years ago Fred had to have a rodent ulcer removed and was so nervous about going to hospital that he had to have a bowl in bed at night to vomit in. I think he must have forgotten to do that recently.

Last night he was worrying about taking his Warfarin today because he had it in his head that he was going to have a cataract operation today and had no worries about it at all.

Anyway, he was offered the option of having the other cataract treated and was only too pleased to accept.

The the consultation was on time and not very long. He could have come home by four o'clock. Unfortunately he had to wait for the ambulance to bring him home. Had he or I booked a taxi to come home we would have judged as not being in need of hospital transport and would never have been able to book another.

Having waited a couple of hours, Fred was considering the possibility of catching the bus, which would have meant coming down our road in the dark. The nurse rung us to say that there was the chance of him getting an ambulance soon but there were several others waiting to go home as well.

Eventually the nurse ordered a taxi which cost me over £16. Fred arrived home at ten to seven by which time the carers had called to put him to bed but had left for their next client. He had to be tagged on to the round of the doubles crew coming from the other direction and finally was in bed by ten, having got up at seven thirty.

He is in bed now, sleeping like a baby, toe in his mouth and gurgling!
