Mundia and PRIVATE Ancestry Trees - HELP NEEDED

I do not know how many people realise this, but many Private trees from Ancestry appear on the Mundia site.

I am not too good at explaining how to remove your Private tree from Mundia, I know you have to go into your Ancestry tree and tick a certain box in the set-up.

Would some kind person with far better skills at explaining this situation please give instructions on how to ensure that your Private tree is just that and does not appear on the Mundia site.

The reason I ask is someone has asked me and I cannot explain properly. (Not techie enough!!!).

Many thanks

Click on Family Tree from the home page NOT from the drop down box which takes you to the family view.

You should see eg

XXXX Family Tree
View tree overview Manage tree

Go into ‘Manage Tree’ then ‘Privacy Settings’

Tick the ‘Private Tree’ circle and also the square box in the same subheading
“Also prevent your tree from being found in the search index.
Note: although your tree will instantly become public or private, it usually takes about a month or more to be reflected in the search index”

Then click at the bottom of the page ‘Save Changes’.

That ought to make it totally private.

I thought it was only Public Trees that were accessable from Mundia? I'm not a paid up member of Ancestry, so have only been able to look at some Public Trees on Mundia!

Exactly Shelley - at one time I'd been sent a screen shot from Ancestry by a contact who asked for some help - it couldn't be traced on Ancestry or on Mundia
