My friend's Dad, 92 years old, is a whizz kid at getting the better of cold callers on the telephone, particularly those from India

I've already told the story of how he got rid of one a few years back but this one is a beauty!!! He'd just gone to bed the night before last when he had a call from an Indian gent informing him that his computer had malfunctioned whilst he was downloading

Terry - "Well I had no idea, what on earth can I do about it?"

Caller - "Don't worry sir, we can fix it?"

Terry - "Well that's as relief, how much will it cost me?"

Caller - "only £80"

Terry - "Well that seems quite reasonable, who do I go about paying you?"

Caller - "We take credit or debit cards"

Terry - "Great, hold on, I'm in the bedroom, I'll just pop downstairs and get my card"

Terry puts the phone on the bedside table and keeps hearing "Hello, hello"
After about fifteen minutes he picks up the "phone

"Sorry about the wait, couldn't find my card - but then I remembered, I don't own a computer"

Exasperated response from the called "Why didn't you say so at the beginning?"

Terry - "To be honest I completely forgot I had no computer"

Oh yes, I can endorse the sentiment.

Do not mess with men over ninety!

I too like to keep them waiting.

his previous encounter with an Indian gent who called saying he could cut his electricity bill by a staggering amount went something like this -

Well how can you cut it by that much, it's no that amount to begin with?

Well we can certainly cut it for you

So how do we go about this - will you be needing my bank details

That will come later

Well, do you have a piece of paper handy?

Yes I do

Well can I suggest you use it to wipe away all that BS you just fed me

End of call :-D
