Did you watch live broadcast from Court of Appeal

Today TV cameras were allowed to record proceedings in The Court of Appeal.

I have just watched the live broadcast and found it very interesting, especially when the presiding judge, before dismissing the appeal, spelt out in detail the courts responses to the arguments that the defendants barrister had put forward for appealing what they considered was to harsh a sentence that had been given to their client.

In the case shown live today Kevin Fisher was seeking an appeal against his seven year sentence for counterfeit money offences. He was jailed in May 2013 over a plot to produce and circulate £1.5 million in pound coins.

I for one think that if we saw more televised court cases, especially a judges summing up of a case and pre-sentence remarks, we might understand better why a judge came to his/her conclusions.

What do you think of allowing court cases or part of the proceedings, for example, the judges summing up of a case and pre-sentence remarks, to be televised ?
