At least you have something 'different' to look out at today!

I wonder if the car insurers will try to claim against the fence owner's insurance, or if it is considered 'an act of God'? At least no one was hurt which is the main thing.

Dizzi

You are the only poster I have spotted yet this morning who appears to be in the eye of the storm. It seems to have hit Cornwall and Devon, then through Dorset, Hants, and then headed towards London and now in East Anglia.

Lot of power cuts this morning and damage in those areas. So perhaps you are one of the few with access to a computer today.

Anyway, keep you head down and lets hope planes land eventually. :-)

According to the BBC 99MPH winds recorded in the Isle of Wight, suppose more to be expected being a small island, but 70 -75 recorded in Swindon. Seems to have missed us anyway.

Stay indoors and safe dizzi.

Paula, I am sure they are going to have a bumpy ride, so don't envy them that. Hope they stay safe though.

used to go regularly to Belgium and Holland this weekend by coach and ferry with a large group of NHS people I worked with - thank goodness we didn't go this weekend!! We came back once in a Force 10 gale and were the last boat allowed into Dover being brought in by tugs- the rest had to stay out and ride the storm

OH and daughters are flying home from London City this afternoon.
Flights out seem to be OK ,but they now need to work on how to get from their current location to the Airport due to the disruptions.

Thanks for news of the Island Karen. Brings back memories when you say 'train' not running. Reminds me of when I was little and lived in Fareham, a treat was to go to Sandown and the train then was a steam train. My Mum always used to say it went so slow that you could get out and pick daisies and get back on in the same carriage. :-D Glad you are all ok apart from minor damage.
